Indian cricket sensation Jasprit Bumrah celebrated a significant milestone in his life on Monday, September 4, as he announced the birth of his first child. The 29-year-old fast bowler, who had recently participated in a match against Pakistan, returned to India after the game for personal reasons.

Taking to his Twitter account, the right-arm seamer shared the joyous news, posting a heartwarming picture featuring himself, his wife Sanjana Ganesan, and their newborn baby. In the announcement, Jasprit also unveiled the name they had lovingly chosen for their son, Angad.

In his tweet, he expressed, “Our little family has grown, and our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! This morning, we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah, into the world. We are over the moon and can’t wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it – Jasprit and Sanjana.”

Some fans had previously speculated about Sanjana’s pregnancy when Bumrah shared a video of the couple engaging in a friendly game of FIFA before the Mumbai Indians star departed for Sri Lanka. While Jasprit will be absent from India’s upcoming fixture against Nepal, he has plans to return to Sri Lanka for the Super Four stage should the Men in Blue progress to the next round.

Regrettably, India’s match against Pakistan concluded in a washout due to adverse weather conditions. The upcoming game against Nepal holds immense significance for Rohit Sharma’s side, and even if it faces another rain-related interruption, India would still advance to the Super Four stage.
