Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni recently provided a subtle indication of his thoughts on Team India’s current form and their prospects in the ongoing World Cup 2023.

Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, India has been in exceptional form in the World Cup 2023, maintaining a perfect record with 5 victories in 5 games. At the time of this statement, India leads the points table and is the sole unbeaten team in the tournament. Their remarkable wins include triumphs over Australia, Pakistan, and New Zealand.

MS Dhoni, who led India to World Cup glory in 2011, was queried about India’s chances of securing the trophy this year during an event he attended in Bangalore.

Initially, Dhoni praised the team and its players, acknowledging that nearly everyone has delivered impressive performances when given the opportunity. However, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain opted to remain tight-lipped and refrained from offering further insights. He smiled as he noted that every aspect of the team appeared robust, but he chose not to elaborate, stating, “It’s a very good team. The team’s balance is excellent, and all the players are in good form. So everything is looking very positive. I won’t say more than this; for the wise, this signal is sufficient.”

India’s next fixture is against defending champions England, scheduled for this Sunday in Lucknow.

Furthermore, MS Dhoni has hinted at his intention to participate in IPL 2024. During the Bangalore event, he mentioned that his knee was recovering well and is expected to be fully fit by November. “My knee has successfully undergone surgery, and I’m going through the rehab process. The doctor has told me that I will feel much better by November. However, there are no issues in my day-to-day routine,” Dhoni revealed.

Dhoni underwent knee surgery in June to address a persistent knee injury that had troubled him throughout the IPL 2023 season. Despite being 42 years old, he was the oldest player to participate in the IPL 2023.
