Former Indian fast bowler, S Sreesanth, has voiced his approval for the Indian selectors’ choice to exclude Sanju Samson from the ICC World Cup 2023 roster. Sreesanth has cited concerns regarding Samson’s attitude and his tendency to disregard advice from cricketing legends.

Despite possessing an impressive average in ODIs, Sanju Samson found himself omitted from key competitions like the Asian Games, the ODI series against Australia, and the World Cup.

Sreesanth maintains that this decision is justified, asserting, “It’s the correct decision. While cricketing greats hold him in high esteem, he often struggles to adapt his approach to suit the pitch conditions. A shift in attitude is imperative.”

Sreesanth has noticed that Samson frequently falls victim to hasty shot selection and underscores the significance of learning to occupy the crease.

“I’ve frequently encouraged him to focus on constructing longer innings. He has been provided with numerous opportunities but is yet to demonstrate the consistency demanded at this level.”
