Shreyas Iyer is prepared to take on any batting role in one-day internationals (ODIs). In the second ODI against Australia, the middle-order batsman demonstrated his batting prowess by scoring a century, earning the well-deserved title of Player of the Match as India secured a convincing 99-run victory.

When discussing his preferred batting position, Iyer humbly acknowledged that he couldn’t replace Virat Kohli in the batting lineup. “I can’t take Virat Kohli’s batting slot. He is one of the cricketing greats and has firmly established his place in the batting order. I am ready and willing to adapt and bat wherever the team requires me to. Flexibility is crucial,” he stated.

Reflecting on his journey back from injury, Iyer shared his determination to regain fitness and make a meaningful contribution to the team. “It was a frustrating period, but I put in diligent work to recover and get back on the field. I watched the team’s games even on challenging days, which kept me motivated,” he added.
